Yin For The Cooncil

A Scottish play: Set in the year 1700. Paisley merchant Rab Turner has three burning ambitions; to carry on the centuries-old feud between Paisley and the neighbouring town of Renfrew, to be elected to the Town Council, and to see his son James married to Alison, a tomboy heiress who has come to Rab's household to learn how to be a lady. But Alison has no time for James, James is in love with Janet, the servant, and Janet is Renfrew born. When Janet's brother Thomas seeks refuge in Rab's house after a fight with Paisley men, Rab's entire household is disrupted and all his hopes threatened by one development after another.
