Genteel

A delightful, light-hearted comedy, wherein two sisters, Alice and Emily share their home with a lodger, McGillicuddy, the untidy, ill-mannered editor of the local paper. Emily would prefer a more “genteel” lodger and advertises for one. MacGillicuddy’s taste for alcohol leads him to finish a potion left by Aunt Lucille, whom Alice is convinced was a white witch. Going into the garden for air McGillicuddy re-appears as he was thirty years ago and charms Emily who believes he has come in answer to her advertisement. But the effects of the potion soon wear off - not only from McGillicuddy but also from the cat named Uncle Arthur!
